PyCon HK 2026, Hong Kong's premier Python conference, joins over 50 PyCon events held annually worldwide. Organized by the Hong Kong Python User Group, Open Source Hong Kong (OSHK), Hong Kong Creative Open Technology Association (HKCOTA) and Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT). This year's theme, “Code, Connect and Carry On”, celebrates the resilience of Hong Kong's Python community as we ride into the AI era. Python continues to power AI, automation, and innovation. We come together to learn how to drive these fast-moving technologies responsibly while keeping people at the center. Join us at HKIIT, Tseung Kwan O, on November 14, 2026, for a day of insightful talks, hands-on experiences, and meaningful community connections. A Development Sprint will follow on November 15, 2026. Let’s Code, Connect and Carry On — embracing Python, AI, and the spirit of a resilient rider as we move forward together.
Day 1 - Conference Day: November 14, 2026
PyCon HK 2026's Conference Day features 3 tracks of talks and sessions, covering a range of topics across Python, AI, data, software engineering, and community. Featured sessions include:
[Keynote] Paul Everitt: Was, Is, Will Be: Python History, Software Engineering, And AI Our Way
Paul Everitt, Developer Advocate at JetBrains and co-founder of Zope Corporation, explores Python's evolution and the strength of its community. Discover how agentic coding is reshaping the profession and community, and what we can do together through a Python AI project built for us.
Jacky Chan: AI 聽到聲音時,會聯想到乜嘢?
Jacky Chan, a Hong Kong researcher who builds and experiments with local AI systems, explores how multimodal models form associations with sound. His experiments with raw audio and prompting reveal differences between models and point toward new possibilities for AI evaluation and comparison.
Hon Kwan Shun Quinson: Property-Based Testing with Hypothesis
Hon Kwan Shun Quinson, an M.Phil. student in Computer Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, explores the application of LLMs in software development. See how property-based testing with Hypothesis can generate structured inputs, test a wider range of cases, and improve confidence in Python code.
Indy Ho: Python Applications in Sports Science, Injury Prevention and Physical Fitness Promotion
Indy Ho, a physiotherapist and Assistant Professor at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong(THEi), explores the use of Python in sports science, injury prevention, and human performance. Learn how Python supports predictive analytics with biomechanics data and explore pose estimation approaches through practical examples and live YOLO-Pose demonstrations.
